Newsletter – January 2024

WELCOME TO 2024…AND WELCOME BACK TO THE KINGSWAY WOMEN’S CLUB (KWC).   OUR CLUB IS NOW LESS THAN A YEAR AWAY FROM CELEBRATING A MOST AUSPICIOUS YEAR.

Our 90th Anniversary approaches in 2025…and we hope that all of our members will be there to join in the festive celebrations.  I wonder what our founding members would think of “their” Club today in 2024…

For those of you who were able to attend our December Holiday Luncheon, you will remember the beautifully decorated tables, a delectable turkey luncheon served by Markland staff, and a fantastic concert by a very talented ensemble, The Enchanted Flutes.  Their musical selections spanned many genres, allowing us to revisit familiar tunes, do some foot tapping, singalong and thoroughly enjoy the afternoon.  A very good time was had by all.

Our excellent Programme resumes in January – be sure to not miss any of these events:

KWC EXECUTIVE – CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS

The majority of the current Executive will be stepping down in April, 2024, with most having served since at least 2019 and several for years prior.  The usual two year term was extended due to dealing with pandemic challenges and keeping the Club fellowship alive.

We know that each KWC member has different and unique skills that can be brought to the table.  Please consider contributing to your Club by volunteering to join the Executive – have a creative hand in shaping this organisation as it moves forward.  Or perhaps you would like to volunteer to organise an Interest Group or start a new one – cultural trips, lunches to area restaurants, day trips to local sites of interest, etc.

If you are interested or require further information, please contact Pam Harper, Chair, Nominating Committee, at 416-231-4627.
